Meet Gary Szeredy, the co-owner of Queen Anne Beerhall in Seattle, WA. When Gary and co-owner Justin Andrews took over Queen Anne Beerhall in 2020 he brought his own Northwest spin to the business, which was originally inspired by a beer hall in Czech Republic.

What’s your favorite part about the community your business is in & why?

The Queen Anne community is truly the definition of community. The area of lower Queen Anne is a close-knit community that cares about its neighbors. We are proud to have a place where the community can come together. Our community has really grasped onto what is happening at Seattle Center and the Climate Pledge Arena.  We are excited to hold fundraisers that help our community at large, and the community has responded overwhelmingly. Our area likes having a place like the Queen Anne Beerhall to congregate, bring their dogs, drink great beer, and enjoy some of the best food in Seattle.

As a business owner, what’s the strangest or craziest idea you’ve ever tried?

We are proud of our crazy ideas! Our quarterly brewers nights bring out all of our local brewer teams to highlight some of our country’s best beers. We also have incredible out of the box events like our 5-course dinner with Top Chef’s Shota Nakajima, our numerous beer dinners, and our most recent events like Harry Potter trivia and our party bus outings to the ballpark!

What’s something your customers may not know about you or your business?

While the beer hall has been around for many years, it was purchased by us (new owners) almost 2 years ago.  It’s not the same beer hall!  We have created what we call a Northwest Beerhall.  We changed 20 of our taps to local breweries, added TV’s for watching sports, and expanded our menu to include the city’s best smashburger, fried chicken sandwich, fried cheese curds, and many more locally sourced items. We transformed our business into a local beer hall that still has European influence but now focuses on what our community was asking for!

The Queen Anne Beerhall brings an authentic beer hall experience to Seattle. It is a tradition that Europeans have enjoyed for centuries – communal tables where friends and strangers mingle in a lively, friendly atmosphere.

The establishment features a 7,000 square foot hall, 25 premium draft beers with a large selection of the best local breweries that Seattle has to offer along with amazing beers from around the world.

The bar offers unique cocktails made with in-house prepared syrups and shrubs. The menu includes classic beer hall fare mixed with incredible food from the Pacific Northwest.  Don’t miss perfectly executed staples such as soft Bavarian pretzel and grilled sausages along with killer wings, burgers, and fried chicken sandwiches.

It’s a great place to watch Washington sports as well, located just 4 blocks from the Climate Pledge Arena. The Queen Anne Beerhall is a place to gather, to experience incredible food, music and community
